Edward G. Maluff Jr, of Hoover, Alabama passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on March 12, 2019. “Butch” as he was affectionately known, was 66 years old. Butch graduated from John Carroll High School in 1971 . He spent much of his life working in the food industry, working in various parts of the country in fine dining. He enjoyed a great game of golf and played whenever he could. He was an avid sports fan, and Alabama football was his passion. Butch spent most of his time cooking for his family and friends. He was an excellent chef and loved any opportunity to master his art. He was also known as the neighborhood handy man, and always willing to help anyone in need. Butch is survived by his children, Christina and Charlie, mother, Norma C. Phillips, sister, Terri Bentley (Todd), and other loving family members. He was loved by so many and his presence will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with a Celebration of Edwards Life following at 2 p.m.
