She was born in Loraine Texas on June 4, 1943 to Daniel and Pomposa Teran Vasquez.
The Matriarch or her family, Mary always put God and family above all else. She was a selfless woman who spent her life helping family whenever or wherever she was needed. If Mary had anything to give of use, it was yours. She believed with hard work anything can be accomplished and showed this with a lifetime of service to all. Mary was always open and honest with her feelings and opinions. Mary was able to perfectly balance being firm, giving tough love when needed as well as showing those she cared about a warm unconditional love unparalleled by any sister, mother, or grandmother.
In her spare time she enjoyed her time in the Guadalupanas, crocheting, listening to music, going to dances, doing word searches, sewing and cooking, Mary custom made many dresses and other types of clothing for her family throughout the years, and those who had the opportunity to taste her tamales would tell you they were second to none.
Mary is survived by her children; David Arellano of Colorado City, Gilbert Arellano and wife JoAnn of Colorado City, Paul Arellano of Austin Texas, Abel Arellano and girlfriend Kelly Smith of Colorado City, Anna Burns and husband Phillip of Abilene, and Danielle Hernandez and husband Ivan of Odessa, by her grandchildren Matt, Adrian, Felicia, Rebecca, Sierra, Gilbert, Miranda, Orlando, Ross, and Chantelle, and Lindsey, and by 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Garza and husband Albert of Sweetwater, Gloria Wilson of Sweetwater, Erlinda Ethridge of the Metroplex area, and by a brother-in-law Rogelio Ramirez.
