Mary L. Perez, affectionately known as "Nena", 85, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, March 25, 2019. Mary was born February 3, 1934 in Port Arthur, Texas to Cyril and Margarita Perez. Mary was the eldest of her 4 siblings, Arthur, Emil, Alfred and Dolores Ann. She was passionate about caring for her family. Although she never had children of her own, Mary cared for and treated her many nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She also took great pride in caring for her mother and siblings in their time of illness and need. She never hesitated to sacrifice her time for her loved ones. Mary is known for seeing the good in everyone and the value in everything.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and her dearest and lifelong friend, Isabel "Eazy" Jimenez.
A gathering of friends and relatives will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a service to begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
