Sonny "Larry" Murphy

On Monday, May 6, 2019, Sonny (Larry) G.Murphy age 83, passed away peacefully at home with his wife Sheila by his side. Born October 10, 1935 to Glen and Maureen Murphy of Salt Lake City, Utah and spent his youth in Washington State. Survived by his wife Sheila of almost 32 years, son Michael, brother Dennis and precious, 3 ½ year old granddaughter Scarlett.

Sonny had an extensive career in music and aviation. He taught music theory, played many concerts and had the honor of performing at the White House. He went on to form his own band and played for many years on the road. His love for airplanes led him to a career in aviation. He became a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), simply because he loved to teach. Sonny lived his life to the fullest with a passion for the outdoors – hiking, biking and camping.

Services will be on Thursday, May 16, 2019, 1:00pm at Palm Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne, Las Vegas, Nevada 89129. Following will be a gathering at the home of Annette and Larry Kinsman, 2205 Plaza Del Prado in Spanish Oaks (Provide the guard the Kinsman name).
