Ona Mae Cook, 93, of Arnett, WV, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at CAMC-Memorial. Born on April 11, 1926 in Horse Creek, WV, she was the daughter of the late Freland Linville and Amanda Mae Wiley Linville.
Anyone who knew Ona was blessed by her kindness and generosity. She was a member of Eunice Baptist Church for many years. She loved quilting, tending her flower garden and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ona was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Montie Cook; brothers, Carl, Scott and Chris Linville; sisters, Violet Cook, Velvet Miller and Rosa Webb, all of Horse Creek, WV; and granddaughter, Christy Donner.
Ona is survived by her sister, Marie Sexton of AL; her two daughters, Linda Conaly of Cleveland, OH, and Wanda Dickens and husband, Roger of Arnett, WV; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Charles Dickens and Pastor Larry Kinder officiating. Burial will be held in the Tower Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Honoring her as pallbearers are Ronald Dickens, Edsel Dickens, Shelby Linville, Delane Linville, Michael Dickens and William Dickens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for those who wish, memorial contributions be made in the memory of Ona to the charity of the donor’s choice.
