Dr. Nancy was born on December 5, 1946 in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Staszko) Spadafore. Nancy married the love of her life, Terry Alberts, on June 5, 1965. Nancy always said they held hands to “Hold Each Other Up.”
Nancy graduated in 1979 from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, thus fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a Medical Doctor.
She was a member of New Hope Church and received such joy from her involvement in various groups at the church, including singing in the choir, Bible Study and as a mentor. Nancy was always the first to offer to bake for any gathering at New Hope as well.
Nancy is survived by Stephanie Harwood Parlamento and her husband, Donald. Their children, Stephen Theodore Banks Harwood and William Spencer Harwood. A son, Christopher C. Alberts. Two sisters-in-law, Dona Turnour and her children, John and Kathy Turnour, Tom Helsing and Janet and Eric Renner. Carole Alberts and her children, Sharon Alberts-Campbell and her husband, Mike Campbell, Tracy Alberts-Wilde and her husband, Jim Wilde and Dr. K. Scott Alberts and his wife, Dr. Hyun-Joo Kim. As well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dr. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry Lee Alberts in April 2016 and a niece, Joyce Helsing.
Friends will be received on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Additional visitation will be on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 9 to 10 a.m. at NEW HOPE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 200 2nd Avenue, Freedom, PA 15042 where her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Martin J. Galbraith. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to the Church in loving memory of Dr. Nany K. Alberts.
