Born in 1936 to Paul and Marie Geiger, Paul Jr. spent his childhood in the Vailsburg section of Newark, N.J. He married Betsy McCoy in 1958 and raised his family in West Orange.
He was the devoted husband of Betsy Geiger; loving father of Paul Geiger and his wife Jan, and Trish, Sheila, and Beth Geiger; cherished grandfather of Jessica Marsh and her husband Galen, and Shaun and Brian Geiger, and Ian Hardcastle; and adoring great-grandfather of Violet and Max Marsh; and dear brother of the late Mary Powles and the late Ann Faas. Paul also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
He graduated with honors from Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Prep. In his earlier adult years Paul participated in local theater, highlighted by his portrayal of Victor Prynne in Noel Coward’s Private Lives. In 2001 he retired as editor and partner at Industry Publications in Parsippany, N.J. His focus for over 30 years was monthly publications on fuel oil, oil heat, and aerosol innovation.
Paul had well-known passions for: sailing, traveling, baseball, and astro-physics. He published We Live in a Helical Universe in 2012. He enjoyed documenting his yearly travels to over ten European countries. The 1969 Miracle Mets were the embodiment of his often-quoted, “You never know…” His favorite hobby was quiet summer sailing in and out of Stone Harbor, N.J.
