He was born in Rumford Maine on March 15, 1964 a son of Gloria (Touchette) and Wilfred U. Hamel, Jr.
Paul was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School Class of 1984.
He was employed for many years with Bancroft Contracting Corp, and also for Randy Richards, and most recently for Pat Gorham.
Paul was a volunteer with Roxbury Fire Department,
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and also spending time with his mom and his two fur babies.
Surviving are his wife Bandi Whyte of Mexico; his mother, Gloria (Touchette) Hamel of Roxbury; a stepson, Chanse Whyte of Mexico; sisters, Peggy Elliott and husband Brian of Mexico, and Terri Starbird and husband Glenn of Mexico; brothers, Frederick Hamel and wife Sue of Peru, Timothy Hamel of Roxbury, Daniel Hamel and wife Corinne of Turner, Wayne Hamel and wife Linda of Roxbury, Jerry Hamel and wife Angela of Rumford and Ross Hamel and wife Kim of Rumford; many nieces and nephews; and two furry friends, Sunni and Little Bean.
He was predeceased by his father Wilfred and a nephew Stephen Hamner.
