Terry was born on September 13th, 1947 to Margaret (Ronan) and Frank J. Keating, Jr. He grew up in Blessed Sacrament Parish in Kansas City, Kansas, graduated from Christ the King grade school, attended DeLaSalle Academy for one year, and then graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1965. Terry was a lively child and loved to tease sister Barbara, and go with Barbara and friends to the movies. They had many happy times together and with their cousins and neighborhood children. He enjoyed trips on the train to California and several times to Chicago to see his grandparents. Terry had two younger brothers, Tim and Pat, and he was especially close to them in later years and enjoyed Sunday dinners and card games with them. He also contributed greatly to their misspent youths at the pool table. Terry married Betty Shafer in 1971 and they divorced a few years later. He never remarried.
Terry was drafted into the Army in 1967 and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1969 with
Company B of the 39th Engineer Battalion (CBT). He was very proud of his service to his country.
Terry loved to play dominoes at Baird's Bowling Alley in downtown Kansas City, Kansas, and was also in several pool leagues throughout the years. He was a well-known pool player around town and enjoyed going to Las Vegas for the BCA National Tournaments on several occasions. He finally achieved his dream in 2004 when he helped Gary Mace design and found Brass Rail Billiards and Dining in Kansas City North. He worked long hours as the manager until he was struck down by illness in 2007.
Terry is survived by his sister, Barbara (Frank Klaczak); brother, Tim and brother, Pat (Sharon); and by many cousins.
