Brian was born October 22, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the late F. Gerald and Margaret (Roche) O'Hara.
Brian is preceded in death by his son, Brett.
Brian is survived by his bride of 51 years, Barbara and his daughters, Maggi and Colleen. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren: Eva, Brianne, Samantha, Erin, and Aengus.
Brian's passions were comedy, sales, and service to others. Brian crushed his first standup comedy gig at a Cub Scout meeting at the age of 8. He continued to refine his comedy by appearing at comedy clubs in the Triangle and auditioning for AGT. He also would never pass up an opportunity to weave his sense of humor into a conversation, while speaking at a wedding, or at one of his sales presentations/sales seminars. At age 9, Brian began to realize his gift for sales when he earned the top newspaper sales in his Chicago region. Brian’s continued sales success led to him owning Crown Premiums (1985-2015), a profitable sales incentive/custom promotions manufacturer that employed 150-550 people overseas. In addition, he authored Power Strategies for Closing First Call Sales (1981) and had articles published in business magazines. Brian attended AA meetings for 29 years, for both the fellowship and to support others who were in the beginning of their recovery. He also served on the Board of New International, a global mission organization, as he believed that one of his gifts was to support others in doing God's work. Most importantly, Brian was a protector and provider for everyone for whom he cared.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Brian’s honor may be made to New International, 2701 Cleveland Avenue, Suite 200, Fort Myers FL 33901.
