Fred G. Norling passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the age of 91 in the company of his loving family. He was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on March 31, 1928 to Fred and Dagny Norling. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his daughter, Tammy Zollman (Charles), step-daughters Heidi Longwell (Glen) and Gretchen Haney (William); grandsons Ryan Zollman and Joshua Strange, Granddaughters Cassondra Longwell, Kristina Haney, Cheyenne and Dakota Norling. He had been preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Kim Baumann. Fred worked for Standard Oil in Illinois and for Montgomery Ward, J.C. Penney and Sears in Phoenix spending his career in the automotive sales and management area. He enjoyed leisure time traveling, camping and exploring his Swedish roots. Fred was active in service to the Presbyterian Church as an elder at Memorial and Orangewood churches and had a strong interest in the mission area. He attended so many meetings of the Presbytery of Grand Canyon that he was referred to as "Mr. Presbytery" by many people. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Orangewood Presbyterian Church, 7321 10th Street, Phoenix, 85020 on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception following in Page Hall.
