Betty Lou worked outside the home for many years and was of the Church of God faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jesse Gayton, Jr.; parents, T.J. “Bill” and Hazel Burns; siblings, Gilbert Burns, Barbara Sims, Clara Lee Burns and Kenny Burns.
Betty Lou is survived by a daughter, Janet (Steve) Rosenberger; son, Steve (Melissa) Gayton; grandchildren, Tony (Bobbie) Rosenberger, Ricky (Rebekka) Gayton and Chris (Lesley) Gayton; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Eddie (Donna) Burns, Dennis and Tommy Burns, Billie Vickers, Vivian Bray, Frances (Harold) Bowman, Gail (Kevin) Wagner and Patricia (Perry) Chauncey; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, August 10, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Betty Lou’s services will follow at 1 pm on Saturday, at the North Chapel with Reverend Dwight Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
