Michael A. Grande, 57, of Las Vegas passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 11, 2019. He was born on June 21, 1962 in Sharon, PA to Beverly Tennant and Benjamin L. Grande. He lived his early years in Hermitage & West Middlesex, PA before moving permanently to Las Vegas in 1981. He has been employed at Jackpot Joanie’s at 2634 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson for the past 10 years.
Michael loved his family, friends and nature. His children Cody, Zachary & Katie and his fiancée Katrina were the light of his life. He was a family man who dedicated his life to teaching his children, nieces & nephews and many more to love and respect nature, whether it was fishing, hunting, gardening, hiking the mountains or simply caring for the world we live in.
He was a member of Nevada Bass Anglers fishing club and Nevada BASS Nation and enjoyed traveling to other states to fish, but many of his best catches came at home on Lake Mead & Lake Mojave. His compassion for all people was also expressed as he annually participated in Cast for Kids where he helped many disabled children enjoy the lake, boating and catching their first fish. He also kept a piece of PA in his heart because he loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Michael is survived by his sons Cody & Zachary of Las Vegas; his daughter Katie of Reno; fiancée Katrina Roberts, Las Vegas; brother Benjamin Grande, sisters Dale Mason, Sandra Grande & Betty Jo Alexander all of Las Vegas; ex-wife Lisa Grande, Reno. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews whose lives he played an important role in. A kind and generous man who gave all he had to whoever need it, his loss on earth will be felt by many.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kimberly Gillinger.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Community of Christ church, 5401 W. Oakey Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Michael’s name to your individual favorite charity.
