Hans was the only boy in a family of five children. He grew up as a military brat with his sisters and lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Germany. He graduated from Zweibruecken American High School in 1976 and joined the U.S. Army in 1979. While on active duty, he was stationed in Hawaii, South Korea and Washington State. He received an Honorable Discharge and moved back home to Huntsville, Alabama. He enjoyed playing basketball when he was younger and attending concerts. He also liked to go fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, after he got out of the Army.
Hans was preceded in death by his mother, Sieglinde Perry.
Surviving family members are his father, James Perry (Anita) of Homosassa, Florida; sisters, Anita Ashworth of Hazel Green, Alabama, Connie Jones (Al) of Brierfield, Alabama, Brenda Nalls (Rick) of Huntsville and Linda Perry (Captain Tom Kershner) of Madison, Wisconsin; and 15 nieces and nephews.
The Memorial Service will be private. Interment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
