His parents were Nelson Almond Brewer Sr of Royalston, Massachusetts and Alice Doris (Davenport) Brewer of Granby, Massachusetts.
Nelson was a member of the Cedar Cross United Methodist Church and loved the Lord. He began learning how to play the violin when he was 7 years old. For many years he shared his love of singing and playing the violin at church, at nursing homes, with the Old Time Fiddlers, and for anyone who would listen.
He also loved sailing and owned several sailboats over the years.
Nelson was a Navy veteran of 23 years. He was an aircraft mechanic and was involved in working on the Blue Angels when stationed in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. During the course of his service, he lived several places in Massachusetts, Illinois, and Washington state. After retiring from the Navy he worked for Northwest Protection Services and then as a heavy equipment operator for Bayliner.
He married Mildred Arlene (Davis) Brewer 9/4/1949. They were involved in the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program after they both retired. Mildred passed away on 07/26/1998.
Nelson leaves 3 daughters, Leona Weltzer, Dorothy Andrist, and Kathleen Campbell, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
