After graduation she taught elementary school for 2 years in New Orleans.
Joanne moved to Houston, Texas in 1968 where she made life-long friendships with so many. She was known for her extreme loyalty and had a long and fulfilling career in the financial industry until her retirement in 2015. She enjoyed traveling, holidays, parties, get togethers, casino trips, and most of all being with her family and friends.
Joanne was a die-hard sports fan. She was always rooting for her beloved Texans, Rockets, and Astros. She never missed a game! She was the first to call you on your birthday, first to send you a card, and the first one to offer help when you were in need.
Joanne is survived by sisters, Laurie May of Houston, Texas, Jenny Gaido of Conroe, Texas; brother, Mario and wife Judy Dell’Osso of Crockett, Texas. Joanne was fondly known most of all as “Jo”, “Aunt Jo”, or “AJ”. She is also survived by niece, Maureen and husband Ed Bondurant of Arnold, Maryland; nephews, Robert and wife Julie May of Dallas, Texas, Richard and wife Kay Gaido, of Willis, Texas, Mike and wife Belen May of Houston, Texas, John and wife Cyndi Gaido of Santa Fe, Texas, David and wife Kate Dell’Osso of Austin, Texas, John and wife Naabia Dell’Osso of Washington, DC.
