Mrs. Swanzy was born on January 11, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Herbert and Marjorie (Lindsey) Schmidt. She attended Houston Community College where she received her degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
She was an extremely brilliant and talented nurse for over 40 years, working in many local hospitals in both rural Arkansas as well as in Houston. She eventually worked in various clinics in the Sugarland area. Every patient she treated and every doctor she worked with loved her immediately because of her warmth and her huge heart.
In retirement she enjoyed, reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends and last but not least her dogs.
Eileen was a very loving, caring, considerate, and devoted wife to her wonderful husband Scott Swanzy. She adored her little sister Cheryl and was always her shelter in the storm. She was the ultimate doting grandmother and was very involved with her grandchildren. Her favorite activity was baking cookies, cakes, and pies with her granddaughter Naomi. She was an extraordinary mother to her beloved daughter, Melissa.
She is survived by her husband Scott Swanzy., daughter, Melissa Swanzy and fiancé, Austin Govella. Grandsons, Aiden Govella and Alexander Govella and granddaughter, Naomi Govella. Her sister, Cheryl Schmidt Savitt. Her brother & sister in laws: Chris and Carol Sapstead and Jack and Bernie Swanzy. Her nephews, Derrick Speck, Kyle Savitt, Michael Swanzy and Brent Sapstead. Her nieces Kaitlyn Savitt, Beth Kelly, Jenny Banales, Cassie Tigue. As well as many other relatives and close friends.
She will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5000 West Tidwell, Houston, Texas 77091. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
