She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Scott Marshall Gordon, her parents, Joyce and G.C. Anderson, her brother, William Anderson, stepson, Dennis Gordon, and brothers in law, Lawrence Gordon and Patrick Smith. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Jack) Cooke, daughter, Dana Stork, and two stepsons, Robert (Lennice) Gordon and Scott (Vicki) Gordon. Catherine was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, wife and friend. Cathy was born February 25, 1943 in Harlingen, Texas. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Harlingen High School, Texas in 1961. As a young woman, she helped her grandmother who was a seamstress. Her love of fashion followed her to college at Texas Woman's University where she majored in fashion design and had one of her designs chosen by Lorch Designs of Dallas Texas for their 1965 fashion line. Cathy followed many paths, from being a dental hygienist, to working at Texas Instruments, to becoming an Electrical Engineer at Boeing where she would finish out her working career. Cathy was adventurous and full of life. She learned to scuba dive in Belize, climbed mountains in Washington State and toured Alaska with her partner in crime, Janet Harlow. Always game for an adventure, you could find her hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. She landed in Seattle Washington, which is where she met her husband, Scott Gordon. Together, they shared a love of the outdoors and exploring the northwest. Cathy battled many health issues later in life, but they never affected her spirit. She was always sharing a tale of her grandsons, empathizing with strangers, and comforting all around her. Her giving spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed by all her knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Cemetery, at 11220 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133 on January 5th, 2019 at 3:00pm. A reception to share stories and connect with family and friends will follow the memorial service. A heartfelt thank you to all the doctors, nurses and aids at Northwest Hospital for their kindness and care in Catherine's final days.
