Fakher Ishak Abdelmessih Tawadros was born August 25, 1946 in Asiut, Egypt, to the late Ishak Abdelmessih and Mary Henaway. Fakher passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on October 2, 2019.
Fakher relocated from Egypt to Rochester, PA in 1974 where he met his soon to be wife and love of his life, Patricia Hogue. Two of Fakher’s greatest accomplishments in life are his children, Felicia and Sharif. Fakher and Patty relocated their family to Poinciana, FL in 1988. In 2016, Fakher and Patty relocated to Zion, IL and eventually came to live with their daughter and her family in Gurnee, IL in 2018.
Upon Fakher’s arrival to the United States, he worked for Babcock & Wilcox as a machinist and retired in 1982. Fakher was also an ordained Deacon of the Coptic Orthodox church to make Holy bread, (Orbana). Throughout the years his gift of carpentry served as a tribute to the community; such as remodeling homes, building furniture, keepsakes and establishing the Icon Wall in St. Mary and Archangel Michael’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Oviedo, FL. In July 2019, Fakher was invited to help start the construction of another Icon Wall in Tucson, AZ. He always remained close to his faith and the church.
Fakher was adored by many close friends and family. His infectious personality, dapper style, and cheerful disposition will forever be remembered and admired.
He leaves to treasure his memory, his wife, Patricia Abdelmessih, daughter, Felicia and son in law, Dante McCarthy; son, Sharif and daughter-in-law Marie-Antoinette Abdelmessih; grandchildren, Allison, Allegra, and Andréa Vandenberg, Isaac and Jacob Abdelmessih, and Tavion McCarthy; brother Faris Abdelmessih; sisters Afaf Ishak, Hanah Ishak, and Houda and brother in law Wafiek Nakhla. Fakher was the beloved uncle of several nieces and nephews. Many friends from the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, and Egypt will forever cherish his memory.
Fakher was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ishak and Mary; brother, Affat Ishak; and brothers-in-law, Ausum Louis and Samir Samy.
