She was born in Union County on December 8, 1931. Pauline graduated from Mineral Springs High School and married her husband Hurley Long on October 23, 1953. Together, they owned several restaurants and rental properties throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hurley; her sister, Eva Howey and by her brothers, David Penegar and Ray Penegar. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Joyce L. Thomas and husband Norman; her son, Phillip A. Long and wife Robin; her grandson, Dakoda A. Long who lovingly cared for her as her caregiver; her sisters, Mae Austin and Velma Boatright and by her brothers, Henry Penegar and Dillon Penegar. The family would also like to thank David McClain for his love and support.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am Friday, November 1, 2019 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Long will begin at 11:00am in McEwen Funeral Home’s Colonial Chapel with interment following in Lakeland Memorial Park. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the Long family.
