In keeping with her wishes, Margaret passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2019, in her 88th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Charles (Chuck-2005) and son Charles (Chip-2018), parents Robert and Jane Anderson and her sister Helen (John) VanStaalduinen. She is survived by her daughter Catherine (Tim) Boldt, grandchildren Caitlin, Amanda and Nicholas, great grandchildren Arielle, Adrian and Elijah, all of Pleasanton, California. She is also survived by her brothers James (Annabel) of Oshawa and Robert (Janice) of St. Catharines. She will also be missed by the Anderson, McMichael, Stewart and VanStaalduinen nieces and nephews.
Margaret was employed at the Welland Vale Manufacturing Company until its closing and then the Ontario Paper Company until her retirement. She then became involved with The Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation doing charitable work in the area. Margaret was a life-long member of Knox Presbyterian Church and served on many important committees, including Clerk of Session. She was instrumental in the organization of the Out of the Cold Program.
The family would like to thank Dr. Schultz, the LHIN system, the PSW’s, and The Walker Cancer Facility. A special thank you to family friend Jodi Hanson for her tireless efforts and her two "Amigos" Diana and Marilyn for their care and friendship.
Visitation will be held at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 75 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-6346) on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH; 54 Church Street, St. Catharines. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church (St. Catharines) or the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.
