Geno Mancuso passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2019. He was born the son of Frank and Angelina (Amato) Mancuso on January 30, 1940, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Geno proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and later in the Reserves. He worked for Raven Industries and was on the first flight crew to fly high-altitude balloons. In 1963, Geno married Helen Coomes, and they moved to Palestine, Texas, where he worked at the National Scientific Balloon Facility. With an eye for quality and attention to detail, he later entered into the garment industry. Geno had a twenty year career with and ultimately retired from Levi Strauss & Company, as the Quality Assurance Manager for North and South America. He retired to San Antonio, Texas, and later continued his retirement in Huntsville, Texas. He was active within the Elkins Lake Community, golfed, and traveled; he loved a good cup of coffee and a great conversation.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and brother Joe Mancuso; he is survived by brother Frank Mancuso of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Helen Mancuso, his wife of 56 years; daughters Gina Lawson and husband Steven; Margo English and husband Danny; and three grandchildren who adored their "Grandad;" Madison English, Mason English, and Giovanni Lawson.
His life among us will be celebrated 1:30 pm, Saturday, November 30, 2019, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Huntsville, TX.
