George Edward Semonik, age 90, of Baden, passed away on Monday December 23, 2019 at the home and under the care of his daughter Joyce Dambaugh. George was born at his home July 24, 1929 to Michael and Agnus Semonik. It seems as was the case with many of his generation that he had as little need for hospitals in the beginning as he had in the end.
George is preceded in death by his brother and absolute lifelong best buddy Michael “Butch” Semonik and the love of his life his wife Theresa.
He is survived by his oldest son George, his daughters Joyce and Janice. He is also survived by his Six Grandchildren Nathan, Tracy, Gretchen, Scott, Ashley, Michael and one great grandchild Aaron.
George was a true Christian Man and a lifelong member of Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 450 Glenwood Drive in Ambridge, PA., He was also a great Family Man, Faithful Husband and a loving Grandfather. He was one of the Greatest Generation who lived as so many of his time, believing in God, Family, and Country.
He was an old school guy who loved to spend time at the hunting camp with his brother, son, and grandsons. He was always strong, quiet, loyal and dependable. When his country summoned him he lied about his age to join the Army Air Corps in 1945 before the war ended. When he was summoned by his obligations to his family he dutifully worked for over 40 years as a millwright to provide for their wellbeing.
Through his life the example he set allowed his children and grandchildren to see what it was to live a life of quite pride and dignity.
Honoring his wishes their will only be a Private viewing. Arrangements are entrusted to the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc., 273 Rte 68 (Adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park).
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
