He was born in Andrews Texas on January 31, 1961 to Cecil Burnard and Wanda Lee Gregg Harris
James was a fun loving, carefree family man, who knew how to work and knew how to love. At the age of 20 on August 8, 1981 in Fort Gibson Oklahoma, James married Jerri Dunn the love of his life, whom he met in Sonora, Texas. The two of them settled down together to raise a beautiful family and in 1993 helped to run the family business, Harris Rathole Services. At times he could come off as a bit stubborn or hardheaded, possibly as a smart-alec but make no mistake about it, those that loved him could see through that exterior and know that in his own witty way was showing his love without trying to show it. In his spare time James enjoyed playing pool, playing chess, shooting darts, exchanging funny videos and memes on messenger, going fishing, hunting, and drinking an ice-cold Bud. But most of all he enjoyed spending quality-time with his family, especially his grandbabies. The memories shared will be cherished by all who love him.
James is survived by his wife Jerri Harris of Colorado City, by his 2 daughters, Jennifer Nunley of Weatherford and Kat Harris of Colorado City, by his mother Wanda Harris of Midland and his brother Terry Harris and wife Debbie of Midland. He is also survived by all of his loved grandchildren Larissa Torres, Landon Nunley and Brantley Palmer, and by his first great-grandchild Jaime Torres, as well as by the one who is on the way.
James was preceded in death by his father Cecil Harris, by an infant brother Jerry Harris and granddaughter Avery Palmer.
A celebration of Life for James will be held on Friday, January 31st at 2 pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
