Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Janice Pardee and his brother Frank Pardee. Surviving are: special friend Maria Guerrero; sister LeeNora Thome; his children Derick (Janie) Pardee from South Carolina, Mark (Cheryl) Pardee from Michigan, Scott (Kyda) Pardee from Texas, and Shelley (Steve) Schneider from Kentucky; grandchildren Heather (Oriel) O'Gorman, Sarah Camareno, Steven (Sarah) Schneider Jr., Elizabeth (Willie) Doyle, Kristy (Johnny) Jacobsen, Melissa (Ben) Kramarczyk, Amanda (Chad) Colburn, Michael (Misty) Schneider, Bekah Pardee, Rick (Sarah) Pardee Jr., Kevin (Beth) Pardee, Scott (Laura Kate) Pardee Jr., Ruthanna Pardee, Nicole (Jeff) Klemin, Joshua (Amanda) Pardee, Travis Pardee, and Shelley Pardee; 37 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred and Janice accepted Christ as Savior in January, 1963, and afterward were always active in the local churches where they were members over the years. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred spent most of his career as a commercial-industrial electrician working for Hatzel-Buehler Electric of Lansing and a member of I.B.E.W. Local 665. He took great pride in projects like the Michigan National Tower, The State Journal, Fisher Body and GM, U. S. Post Office in Lansing, and the MacArthur Locks in Sault Saint Marie. Fred loved to travel and took the family around Michigan and America on several long trips. In his retirement, Fred and Janice spent their winters in Apache Junction, AZ. After Janice's passing, Fred met Maria who became his special companion through his last 17 years. Fred will be remembered for his love of his family, his generosity with his resources and skills, and his flashlights. He will be deeply missed by his family, Maria's family, and friends.
Please join his family for Visitation on Sunday, February 2, 2020, from 3 to 5 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home (205 E. Washington, DeWitt, Michigan 48820). Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 3, 2020, at Maranatha Baptist Church (2300 N Waverly Rd, Lansing, MI 48906) with an additional hour of visitation one hour prior to the service.
