Born June 25th 1955 at Denbigh, North Wales, UK. Daughter of Geoffrey and Valerie Evans, sister of Michael and Roddy. Growing up in the county of Shropshire, England, she became a successful horse rider, competing in national competitions and events, winning prizes at Dressage and Eventing. A serious accident put an end to her riding career and she took up travelling, visiting many European and African countries before she came to the USA at the age of 24 where she married (later to become divorced). Gillian became a resident of USA and after time in New York and Washington, she found herself in Colorado and took up residence in Boulder and for a time in Longmont. She described Boulder, where she lived for 35 years, as the best place on Earth to live and she loved touring with friends in the mountains and National Parks. She returned to the UK for short spells from time to time and took an interest in the horses that she had left behind. She watched her nieces, Alice, Camilla, Florence and Charlotte and nephew Matthew, grow up and latterly followed their travels on Facebook. She was delighted when a great nephew, Arthur and a great niece, India arrived and she was able to stay with them in London. In the month before she died she saw photographs of the two latest arrivals, Jack and Clemmie. While Gillian kept in touch and took an interest in what was going on in England her heart was with her friends in Colorado, where she died peacefully after a short illness on February 3rd 2020.
