Verna Mae Hall Brown, age 86, of Crab Orchard, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on November 21, 1933 in Glen Rogers, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ira Hall and Ida Dunn Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Brown; her sisters, Blanche Hall and Maxine Manning; and her brothers, Andrew, Raymond, Logan, Billy, Douglas, Roy and Robert Hall. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her friends and caregivers, Posey Toler, Donna Meadows and Joyce Higginbotham for all of their love and compassion they provided Verna through the years. Also, a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Bowers Hospice House for the care they provided.
Verna and her brothers were known as the Hall Family Gospel Group. They traveled locally in Beckley singing Gospel music and were heard on the radio.
Those who wish to visit with family and friends may from 1:30 pm until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the Peace Mausoleum of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. A committal service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Peace Mausoleum. Burial will be held in the Peace garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
