Juan was an outgoing, fun loving gentleman. He truly loved his family and had a great sense of humor. He was a jokester at heart and a kind, humble man. He was very affectionate toward his wife, his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being with his family and going fishing, he was a huge Astros fan as well.
Juan was one of 8 children born to Leon and Elena Joya on January 10, 1935 in El Salvador and passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Dominga (Alvarez) Joya; son, AJ Joya and wife, Brooke; daughters, Glenda Akins and husband, Todd and Adela Mata and husband, Rene; grandchildren, Logan Joya, Alexandra Akins, Aida Joya, Joanna Suarez, Jasmine Mata, Jonathan Mata, Priscilla Suarez, Johnny Mata and Laura Mata along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Elena Joya; 2 brothers, 5 sisters and 1 niece.
