Of Jerome, Michigan, passed away at her home under the loving care of her family and the compassionate care of Heartland Hospice on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the age of 79. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Homer Thomas; four children, Cynthia Berry, Kimberley (Bill) Macey, Terry (Mike) Mackey and Tracey Hogle; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Perry, Joyce (Bob) Lake and Don (Jean) Perry; numerous nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends as well as her K-9 companion, Luke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Lee Berry and sister, Mary Evelyn Farrell. Wanda Gene was born on July 4, 1940 to Xolon and Lillie (Norman) Perry in Tennessee. She came to the Jackson area with her family as a young girl and graduated from Jackson High in 1958. She was a hardworking and loving homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family; working outside in her flowerbeds and canning the vegetables that she grew in the garden. She had a strong faith in the Lord and touched the hearts of many. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Thomas will be laid to rest at Somerset Cemetery and there will be a service to celebrate her life at a later date.
