Ron was born and raised in Chicago, attend DePaul University and graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology. He served in the Army National Guard and worked at Navistar (International Harvester) at the Melrose Park plant for over 38 years as an engineer and manager. He enjoyed his role with the management social club planning golf outings and other social gatherings.
He loved sports of all kinds; he played semi-pro 16” softball, bowled in several leagues in and around Chicago and loved spending time on the golf course with his friends. In addition to sports, Ron was an avid movie goer and cigar aficionado. While never a pro athlete, he was very proud of the 175 lb Marlin he caught, the hole in one, and the 299 he bowled.
While proud of personal accomplishments, his most proud moments always included his family and friends. He was the kindest and most generous man to not only his family but to his friends and co-workers.
Ron is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Piochacz), his son Joe (Paula), daughter Judi (Jeff Doyens), his grandchildren Amanda and Jon, his twin brother Don (Carol) and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. A memorial mass will be said at Church of the Ascension on Ft. Myers Beach Florida as well as in the Chicago area at a later date.
