She attended school in Walters, OK, from 1st grade until graduating in 1949, then attended Cameron College in Lawton. She married W. C. (Pete) Roberson in March, 1950, and their first child, Janice, was born in December of that year. When first married, Pete and Barbara lived in Edmond, OK, before moving to Healdton, OK, where their second child, Brent, was born in December, 1954. Working for Halliburton, in 1957, the family moved overseas where from 1957-1969 they lived in Peru, Brazil, and Colombia. In 1969, she and Pete were divorced and she later married Harvey Baycroft. She continued to live in Colombia until 1976 when she and Harvey moved back to the States and travelled the U.S. in a RV.
After settling for several years in Ventura, CA, they got the travel bug again and in 1984, once again toured the U.S. and Canada. Both Barbara and Harvey were avid golfers and eventually settled near Lake Conroe, TX. They enjoyed frequently playing the April Sound golf course on which they resided for 20 years before moving to Kerrville, TX in the Texas Hill Country. Harvey passed away in 2012 and Barbara continued to live in Kerrville until Easter Sunday, April 2018 when she suffered a stroke. At that time, in order to be close to family, she moved into Heritage House Assisted Living in OKC.
In addition to her husband, she is proceeded in death by her mother and father, Billie and O. P. Taylor.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Janice Smith of Broken Arrow, OK, son Brent Roberson and wife Janet of Edmond, OK, step-son Barney Baycroft and wife Elizabeth of Santa Maria, CA, grandsons Brady Smith of Portland, OR, Travis Smith of Broken Arrow, OK, Andy Roberson (Shanna) of Wichita, KS, Keith Roberson (Lauren) of Dallas, TX, and Lucas Baycroft of Santa Maria, CA and three great-grandchildren, Noah, Caleb, and Hannah Roberson of Wichita, KS
