Bobbie Hale White, 92, passed away on July 26, 2020. Born November 15, 1927 in Alabama City (Gadsden), she was the younger of two children born to parents Frank Hale and Ethel Hale Murray. Bobbie graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1946, and married William White, Sr. on February 14th, 1948. They were happily married for 52 years until his death on March 21, 2000. She was a wonderful working mother, living the majority of her life in the Birmingham area. She retired from Union Camp in 1993 to become a full-time grandmother, which would become one of the greatest joys of her life. She loved Braves baseball, Alabama football, and being outdoors. A lifelong Methodist, Bobbie was a member of Clearbranch United Methodist Church, where she faithfully attended until age 89. She also loved gospel music and watched the Gaithers on television on countless Saturday nights.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her son, William White, Jr. and son-in-law, Dennis McCormick. Bobbie was loved, cherished, and will be forever remembered by her loving brother Bill Hale (Mary Tom), beloved daughter Penny McCormick, and treasured grandchildren Dr. Benjamin J. McCormick, Jessica White Conner, and William White, III, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her.
Bobbie touched the lives of many people with her smile, her loving spirit, her generosity, and never lost her trademark sense of humor. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life service on Monday, August 10, 2020, at 11am at Clearbranch United Methodist Church. A private graveside service for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Clearbranch UMC.
