Rita Z. (Melanson) Leblanc, age 100, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred “Frippy” LeBlanc, Sr. with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn on June 15, 1920 to the late Abel and Bella Melanson. Rita was a lifelong resident of Lynn and graduate of St. Jean’s High School. She worked at GE before marrying Frippy, and later worked in the cafeteria at St. Jean’s. Rita enjoyed bowling and word search puzzles, but what she loved most was putting a smile on her loved ones faces’ with her great sense of humor.
Rita is survived by her children Alfred “Freddy” LeBlanc, Jr. and his wife Kathie of Lynn, Louise Wilkins of Lynn, Lorraine Maguire and her husband Thomas of Swampscott, and David LeBlanc and his wife Candace of Georgetown; her son-in-law Joseph “Ozzie” Cormier; her 14 cherished grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rita is predeceased by her daughter Annette Cormier.
Rita’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral will be held from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Jean’s Cemetery, Lynn.
