Born in New York City on August 13, 1922, Olga was the oldest of three children born to Ukranian immigrants, William and Pauline Nichiporuk. As a teenager, she met and married the love of her life, Stephen Hutzaluk. A loyal Air Force wife, she made their home in far-away places, such as England and Germany, and not-so-far-away places, including Tucson, Lubbock and finally, Grand Prairie. When Stephen passed away after 56 years of marriage, she took her place as the family matriarch, a position that she cherished.
Great Ma, as she was affectionately called by her family, was always on the go. She could get any place traveling back roads. A natural-born shopper, dollar stores were among her favorite stops. She was a great cook, and her menu items ranged from traditional Thanksgiving feasts to the ethnic specialties, such as perogies. In addition, she had a sweet tooth that enabled her to enjoy a wide array of treats, ranging from Danish cookies in tins, to Andies Mints, to Braum's strawberry malts, all of which pleased the grandkids.
At church, Olga could be found singing in the choir or whipping up culinary creations in fellowship hall kitchens for "dinner on the grounds". The friendships Olga cultivated during those years remained with her until the end.
A medical misdiagnosis nearly took her life at age 13, and doctors predicted she would never be able to have children. But the Lord had other plans and blessed Olga and Stephen with a loving and loyal daughter, Karen (George) Dailey; three grandchildren, Lauren (Brent) Lovelady, Russ (Pam) Dailey, and Robyn (Jason) Fullerton; and five great grandchildren, Maddie Dailey, Emmy and Stephen Lovelady, and Ryan and Kate Fullerton.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate Olga's life. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the chapel of Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012 on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 12 Noon. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 10 am until service time followed by interment at Moore Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to Fort Worth Teen Challenge, 747 Samuels Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76012.
