Arlene (Gregor) McCall was born August 11, 1926, in Hafford, Saskatchewan, moved to Alberta after her marriage, and died at her residence in Calgary, Alberta on Friday, September 11, 2020, at the age of 94 years.
Mother of Maureen (Ray Kaduck) and Marsha: widow of Jock McCall: sister of Lois Gregor and the late Laurie (Weir). Also survived by several cousins, nephews Greg and Mark Weir: nieces Val Weir and Sheila Bilton, and their spouses and families.
Arlene received a BA in Science from the University of Saskatchewan and worked in the medical field for five years. She then received her ARCT in Piano Pedagogy and taught piano and theory from 1962 until she retired at the age of 91. Arlene was a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers Association for 49 years and Morning Musicale for 48.
Having celebrated her “wake” at her 80th birthday party, there will be no funeral. She never understood why she gathered so many friends and “extended family” members. There will be no better memorial to Arlene than passing on to others what you feel you received from her.
