As all of you know, my Uncle David was a great man. He was the greatest uncle, and I will forever be thankful for everything he did for me. My Uncle David never treated me as if I was just his niece. He treated me like one of his own. I never had to question his love for me, even though he was my uncle through marriage to my Aunt Belinda. I was not the easiest child to deal with after having some trauma in my life at a young age. It was hard for other people to watch me because I would cry the entire time I was away from my mom. He put up with me asking “What time is it” over and over and sometimes saying not so nice things to him because I was anxious about my mom coming to pick me up.  Uncle David was the only one who continuously watched me even though he knew what was coming. I never once heard him complain about it. It would have been so easy for him to say that he was never going to watch me again.  I have so many great memories of him that I will never forget. Like the time that his van was stolen out of my driveway while Jordan, Colby, and I were inside playing, and he didn’t even know it was gone until my Aunt Belinda called him.  Or the time I had just gotten my license (which Uncle David taught me how to drive) and I went to pick Jordan up in my 2001 Hyundai Accent Stick Shift. We were going to the zoo and as we got a few miles down the road we smelled something burning. We got out of the car but could not figure out what was wrong. Uncle David of course was the first person we called, and he was on his way without second thought. Jordan and I had been standing on the side of the road looking at my car trying to figure out what was wrong. When Uncle David arrived, he noticed instantly that one of my tires was blown.  Another memory I have of Uncle David was with the same car, but this time I backed into their ditch. He had to get his truck and pull me out. I was so embarrassed, but he was right there to help me without complaining once. When my mom found out she had a heart condition and was given 5 years to live, Aunt Belinda told me that he was going to do anything he had to do in order to adopt me so I could continue to live a good life. I had the privilege of going to Disney World with Jordan, Colby, Aunt Belinda and Uncle David when I was in high school. I had so much fun on that trip, but mostly because of my Uncle David. He rode all the rides with me and was so excited just like he was a kid himself. Also, thanks to Uncle David, we never ran out of plain peanut butter sandwiches to snack on at the parks. My most favorite memories, though, are being in high school and seeing him in the hallways. I am pretty sure all of my friends knew who he was too, because I would always shout- “That’s my uncle!” What I’ll forever cherish though, are the moments when he was very sick and he still showed that he cared for my daughter Aleyah even though he couldn’t talk, by picking her up and holding her when she was crying, and gently patting her on her butt or head when she ran up to him. My uncle David is and forever will be my hero. This awful disease may have taken my Uncle David, but it won’t take my memories of him. 

I remember when I met David and Belinda the first time. Belinda was out to here with you, Colby walking and viewing the house they were building.
Yes, Colby she was worrying about you even then . . . and so it began. 

David – was a Doer
Went to work every day
Came home – said Hello – Stayed in his work clothes
And Went to work again for his family

David was a man who do DID for his family – cooking, grocery shopping, mowing, cleaning, or washing cars
It was just what he did
It was who  he was

I Admired his work ethic . . . this perspective he lived by to “Do” for his family
Day in – Day out – Never complaining
I Remember: he was washing Colby’s truck
I said, David get Colby out here to do that!
He looked at me with smile . . . . I don’t mind

A second occasion – came home from work started mowing lawn
Once again, I said David get Colby out here.  He is old enough to use the mower now!
 He simply replied . . . I don’t mind
I always believed David’s responses
I Witnessed his action for all these years

Colby – I realized  when I was writing this
I had been Throwing you under the bus all these years
Please Know I have much love for you and the man you have become

David struck me as a simple man
Who Never felt like he was missing out on too much
Perhaps --- he wanted to make more $$,  or go on a few more vacations, BUT
I believe he knew all he needed; All that was most important to him
Was right there each night he walked through the door . . . .!

David was a Man . . . . who showed his emotion:
He had Empathy for others, for animals and for me; too many stories to tell you all of the kindness he showed me over the years, in this time frame.
He didn’t just live his life . . . . he felt it too.

I Saw him cry 2X
Once – family pet passed: sick at heart and kept saying how am I am going to tell kids 
Other time – was tears of joy
Don’t remember context conversation . . . But he said..
Bridget you just don’t know told me how much I love my children.
I believed him . . . . Because I witnessed it all these years.

David loved sports and talking about sports . . . it was the only thing I didn’t like about him . . . he was a Ravens fan . . . . being a Cowboys fan myself.
We had so many driveway talks, through pine trees over the years about NFL, but
We had way more conversations about his love for watching his children play, supporting them, as he spoke of their victories and shining moments.
I believed him . . . . I witnessed it all those years.

David was a man his family could count on 
He was steady and always present and unselfish; rare qualities; they have not gone  unnoticed

I Remember when he was going to stop playing softball, he said his knees were bothering him; Belinda was getting on him a bit; and we were just get older
But do I need to tell you the next why?
I believed him . . . . I witnessed it all those years.

Best Compliment I could ever give a Father or Mother
Is to Tell others how great their children are…
Jordan, Colby . . . You clearly took in your Father’s lessons;
His love, His presence, demeanor, and unselfishness

I know this by watching you literally grow up all these years, but especially over the past 2
How you stood by your mother
While you morphed into roles
No young person should ever have to experience
It was Beyond unselfish, you were incredible

A Feat I know your Father would most proud of; perhaps prouder of than anything else you have ever accomplished.
For you see;  I know how much loved your Mother
I witnessed it all these years

Belinda – You asked me if I wanted to speak about David, but I compelled to speak these words about you
The Internal strength: compassion and mercy you Gave David over these 2 years was remarkable and I know it was not without a heavy price personally.
I know this..because I witnessed over the last 2 years

But you were determined to give David
The greatest gift any Man Woman or Child could ever hope for
To Pass away in our own home, surrounded by family, with dignity
David will never forget what did for him

I taught David in the fifth grade at Prince Street School in the school year (1973-1974). This was my fourth year of teaching and the year I got engaged to Jim. The class was excited about my engagement. David always had a beautiful smile and held a special place in my heart. 
I became very close to this family. David’s parents, Wayne and Carolyn were wonderful supportive parents that faithfully attended PTA meetings and always gave me words of encouragement. Later I taught David’s sister Lisa and then his brother Steven. I would often say it was a blessing to teach all three of the Price children. 
In later years I was thrilled to see David come to our home and help install our first alarm system. We had great conversations during this time.
Then one day as I was teaching, I saw David in his Wicomico County School uniform walking by my classroom and he gave me a beautiful smile. Later I was able to talk with him on different occasions. This always thrilled me and was so proud to discover David was an alarm specialist of the county schools.
At different times I would see David’s mother attend funerals as I was working the services of Holloway Funeral Home. Carolyn and I would have great talks and then last Fall she shared with me that her husband had cancer. I started praying daily for the entire Price family and especially for Wayne.
Wayne died in November 2019 after fighting the battle of this horrible disease called CANCER. From time to time I would see Carolyn and she shared that her son David had been battling for a year the Frontal Temporal Degeneration disease. She explained to me that it was a terrible brain disease that at this point did not look curable. We cried together.
At this point I became Facebook friends with David’s wife Belinda. She was added to my daily prayer list for the Price family and I often tried to send her words of encouragement.
It broke my heart as I read Belinda’s posts. On Friday 10/2/20 Belinda posted a picture of David in his hospital bed asleep clinging to a picture of his family. Belinda said “David’s time on earth is coming to an end. Days maybe weeks are all that is left.” This broke my heart.
A teacher always grieves when one of her students dies. David Price was loved and will always hold a special place in my heart. But what brings me so much comfort is to know David had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and I have the hope of seeing David again. PTL!! My sympathy is extended to the entire Price family and they can count on my daily prayers!!

Hi everybody.  I remember David as we went to the same church and attended the same schools since we were both 3 years old.  I remember meeting David my first day in Kindergarten at St. Albans.  It turned out that David was the fastest runner in his class and I was the fastest runner in my class and so one day his teacher called me out of my room and I remember thinking OH OH I am in trouble for something. Next thing I know she had us racing down the hall to see who was fastest and it ended in a tie.  We attended the same church together and at age 14 every Sunday we would take his parent car for a joy ride around the church which was great driving practice for us!  David was a good guy.  I never saw him bully or mock or pick on anybody.  I also was one of the good guys as I never did either and is why we got along so well together as friends.  Seeing his picture here for the first time in 40 years I have to say he looked the same as I have always known him and would recognize his face anywhere in the world.  I am both shocked and dismayed at his early passing.   To know David Price is to Love him!

Dear Belinda, Colby and Jordan,
Every since I heard of David' passing I have been  filled with a sense of overwhelming sadness.  My thoughts immediately go back to the time when our guys (Colby and Chaudre) were kids and the time we spent supporting and cheering for them on and off the baseball field  and basketball court.  David was a Genuinely  Good Guy!  I just want you all to know that my heart breaks for you guys.  And I pray that God gives you the strength you need to make it through this difficult time!!!

Growing up i would go over David's house to go hangout with his son as well did a lot of the kids. I consider him another father because of the way he welcomed me with open arms and love every time I came around. I would never leave hungry or thirsty because we all got treated like one of his kids. I will miss the great laughs and talks we use to had, the times he put his all into setting up birthday parties just so that we would have the best time possible, come to all of ours games right after work, ect the list could go on. Its another level of pain I have not felt in awhile. Guys like him you don't meet everyday. He loved me for who I and I loved him for the man he was. Times where other people would count me out I knew David and his family had my back and  I had theirs. Thank you for guiding me towards the right pathways whenever you had the opportunity. Always in my heart forever I will truly miss you. I love you g. Rest easy 

Dave was my long time and best tailgating buddy at Ravens games!  I have so many great memories we shared over the years.  You will be missed!  

I’m so sorry for your loss I played softball with David on a co Ed team my thoughts and prayers are with your family.  He was a very nice guy.  My deepest sympathy

Our hearts are heavy over the news of David who we have been praying for since his diagnosis. He is finally at peace and his suffering is no more. Cherish and share your memories of him! His legacy will continue to live on through all of you. Embrace the love and support of your family and friends at this time and find comfort in knowing David is resting peacefully in our Lord’s arms.
