Larry was born in Houston to parents Buford and Vestarine Thompson on September 20, 1953. He spent most his life living in and around the Houston area.
Larry was a strong willed and stubborn man but he loved his son and grand kids with everything he had. The day his oldest grandchild was born a light was lit in his eyes and he began living for his grandchildren. He assigned each one a nickname and that is what he called them from there on out. He believed wholeheartedly in hard work, and even through illness hated missing a day of work. If you couldn’t find him on a Saturday night he was either at the casino or dancing at the closest honky tonk.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Benjamin Thompson and wife, Sumer of Colorado City; granddaughters, Cathron (Whistle Britches) Thompson of Colorado City, Lillie (Sweet Cheeks) Thompson of Colorado City; grandson, Jacob (JD) Thompson of Colorado City; great grandson, Liam (Little Bit) Fordyce of Colorado City; brothers, Jerry Thompson (Larry’s twin) and wife, Barbara of Industry, David Thompson and wife, Laura of Normangee; various nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Buford and Vestarine Thompson; son, Jacob Thompson; and two angel great grand-babies.
