It is with much sadness that I share this news.
Our Heavenly Father reached out His hand to release her from any more discomfort and pain.
Dorothy was a kind, generous and compassionate person that did so much for everyone. She was like my second mother and was so good to my children. She had a kind heart to so many people. Dorothy loved nature, music, reading and sports. She loved to fish, to sketch/art, cook, bake, knit, garden and sew.
These were just a few of her attributes including being charitable to so many organizations to help the poor. She was active with the Catholic Woman’s League (CWL) in the past. In recent years, she sent money to help the poor children in Africa. Also, she would knit mitts, hats and scarves and donate them to be hung on the special Christmas Tree every year at the small shopping centre in the town centre of St. Catharines. She also made knitted finger puppets for the children of war-torn countries.
She and her husband Elzear had many lovely parties where she would always put on a nice spread. I remember while growing up, all the kids in the neighbourhood loved going to her house for her delicious treats.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Sisters of MT. Carmel Residence, Dr. O’Reilly, the Nurses and the Staff for their dedication and kindness to Dorothy at the home throughout her time there.
Throughout her life she touched many hearts and will be dearly missed. Heaven will be a better place with her joining God, family and friends who have gone before her.
RIP and God Bless Aunt Dot! 🙏❤️✝️
