Rex was born on Oct. 3rd, 1937 to Ora Lexey Anderson and Clark Moosman in Elsinore, Utah. At 15, Dad joined the Marines. He was caught and sent home for being underage after he and a few other soldiers got in an accident on base. After he asked his mom to sign papers, he got to go back and proudly serve 8 years as a Marine. Grandpa was always so proud of his time served and later joined his son in the Army National Guard for 12 years.
In 1958, dad was working a summer job at Yellowstone National Park where he met our mom, Carol Lea Diamond. They were married January 17th, 1959, in Elko, NV. Together they had 8 children.
Anyone who knew Dad, knew he had a passion for family, camping, fishing, raising pigeons, and baseball games at Derk’s field. You could always find him in the stands or behind the plate of his grandkids’ games.
In 2017, Dad achieved a lifelong dream of being able to go to Washington DC, visiting all historic monuments, war memorials, and Arlington National Cemetery after being nominated by Utah Honor Flight.
Dad lost the love of his life Carol, in 2003 after her long battle with Breast Cancer. He is also proceeded in death by daughter Penny, sons-in-law Gary and Jerry, his parents, his brother Claire and sister Shanna.
Those that Dad left behind are his kids, Jeff (Gayle), Kristy, Bobbi, Russ, Jacque, Carrie (Jeff) and Corrie, along with 21 Grandchildren, 58 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren. His siblings Richard (Barbara), Jack (Sharlene), Marylynne (Neal), and Ora Lue (Peter).
The family would like to extend our thanks to Legacy House of Bountiful for taking exceptional care of our Pa.
We are celebrating his life on Friday, November 20th from 6-8 pm at Valley View Funeral Home. A private funeral will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 11 am, graveside services will follow at Valley View Memorial Park.
