Nicolas Armand Banaga was granted his angel wings on November 17, 2020. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Nicolas had touched in some way, throughout his short, yet very memorable life.
Nicolas’ life would seem too short to many, but for those who were touched by him, understood that the quality of existence far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. His gentle smile and laugh brought happiness and humor to everyone around him.
Nicolas enjoyed listening to music, playing Xbox with his nephews, brothers, and friends, watching scary movies, cooking and hosting sleepovers with his nephews. Nicolas loved sports and enjoyed coaching football at Lancaster High School and Eastside High School. He enjoyed the hobby of classic cars and enjoyed playing golf.
Nicolas’ biggest accomplishment was becoming a dad. He welcomed his first son, Elijah, in 2013 and his second son, Jonathan, in 2015. He always woke up for midnight feedings, happily changed diapers and did so for his nephews too, and spent every free moment he could with his boys.
In 2018, Nicolas met Erin and inherited two more children, Kingston, 13, and Alyx, 12. He painted nails with Alyx and attended soccer games with King. Nicolas and Erin played many games of Scrabble together, but mostly loved spending time with their 4 kids.
Nicolas had an extraordinary bond with his brothers Gene, Anthony and Damian. The 4 Banaga brothers were best friends and had the best times with one another.
With Nicolas’ passing we are reminded how many people he touched. His caring nature and giving heart will be forever remember by all that knew him. His jokes, sarcasm and wittiness will live on through stories told by family and friends alike.
Nicolas is survived by his loving parents, Joe and Maggie Banaga of Lancaster; Brothers Gene, Anthony and Damian Banaga; Sisters Susanna, Rebecca, Karla and Brittany. Sons Elijah, Jonathan and Kingston; Daughter, Alyx; Future Wife, Erin; 12 nephews and 2 nieces.
