He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Markova, Sunday Walden, Joan (Jim) Jaguszewski and Debbie (Tom) Ludwig; brothers, David (Diane) Schaffer, Paul (Valerie) Schaffer as well as 13 nieces and nephews and countless cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Schaffer. Dan was born on December 2nd, 1947 to Carl and Adeline Schaffer. Dan graduated from Garden City High School and then after an apprenticeship became a bricklayer by trade with Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers Local 2 of Michigan. He was loved and respected by all who worked with him and retired in October 2015 after 50 years of service. In retirement he lived in Hillsdale Michigan and fulfilled a dream of having a farm. Dan never knew a stranger and enjoyed boating, fishing, water skiing, hockey and growing his crops. Dan was known for his love of euchre, a family pastime we all enjoyed. He looked forward to the Schaffer family reunions and he will be sorely missed by all of us who loved him. Final arrangements have not been made yet. Rest in Peace, Daddy-O.
