Savior on December 16, 2020, at the remarkable age of 102. Vivian was born on July 28, 1918, in Newville, Indiana, the daughter of Omo and Pearl Richmond. She graduated in 1936 from Saint Joe High School, Saint Joe, Indiana.
Vivian was gifted at memorization and at a very young age did recitations at her childhood
church, Newville, Church of Christ. Even at 102, she could still recite the alphabet “backwards”.
She grew up on the banks of the St. Joe River where she learned and loved to fish.
Michigan became her home around the 1940’s but she returned to Indiana often to visit family,
friends, and her favorite town, Shipshewana.
Vivian enjoyed gardening, her flowers, cooking, baking, making everything from scratch. She
loved her Indiana Red Bird, the Cardinal, and watching Hummingbirds come to her feeders.
Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great
grandchildren. She and her little dog Lucy, who she called her “Little Baby Dumpling” had a special bond and Lucy brought her much comfort and love. Vivian was a member of Grove Bible Church and loved her church family. When she was able, she attended Senior Saints and loved when they honored her by making her Queen For a Day.
Vivian is survived by her children Larry (Yvonne) Crouse of Traverse City, Michigan; Sharon
Dellvon of St. Johns, Michigan; Linda (Jim) Burton of Lebanon, Oregon; Rick White of Ovid,
Michigan; her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 40 years, Charles White; her
brothers, Darrell and Carl Richmond; granddaughter Lori Crouse and son-in law, James
Dellvon.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, Dewitt on December 21 from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm.
