Born in1935, she attended St. Mary Magdalene Grade School and was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph Academy High School. Mary Ann was awarded an academic scholarship to Fontbonne College. She taught art at Fontbonne, the Bayless School District and St. Anthony's High School. She also volunteered teaching art classes when her children attended Mehlville and Webster Groves Schools. Her artistic talents will be remembered by many who admired her flair for the design and creativity.
She met the love of her life Paul Ferrara while on a blind date when both were in college. They married in June1959 and raised 5 children. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul; her children, Nick (Nancy) Ferrara, Lisa (Tim) Summers, Thomas Ferrara, Marissa(Russ) Scott, her grandchildren, Michael and Jack Ferrara, Tim Summers Jr, Jacqueline (Andrew) Stromberg, MD, Noah and Benjamin Scott as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in-law, Carol Ferrara and countless friends, including members of Mark's Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lilly Brahm, nee Boka, her first born son, Mark A. Ferrara, in-laws, Bartolo and Josephine Ferrara, and her brother in-law, Frank Ferrara.
Mary Ann had a heart for the oppressed and indigent and volunteered her time, talents, and treasure to the poor and homeless. Her greatest joy was her family especially her grandchildren, acting as matriarch over her family
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral Mass for immediate family only will be celebrated with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at a later date.
