Michael Gimino, age 79, passed away peacefully into God’s arms on Friday, January 8, 2021. Michael was born in Chicago to the late Dominic and Eleanor Gimino on March 30, 1941. Preceded in death by his sister, Diane Gimino. Devoted husband to Marsha Gimino (nee Henley) for over 56 years. Deeply loved and cared for by his children Mia Lonkar (Jeffrey), Christopher Gimino (Cindy), Gina Johnson, Dana Fischl (Mark) and Nicole Rizza (John). Loving Papa to Michael Lonkar (Rebecca), Kaitlyn Balamut (Jason), Heather Landis (Dave), Emily Gimino, Christopher Gimino, Sandra Jankowski, James Jankowski, Alexis Fischl (David), Zachary Fischl, Taylor Gimino (Demi), John Rizza, Joseph Rizza, Dominic Rizza and Maria Rizza; Proud great grandfather to Bentley, Henry, Benjamin, William, Jackson and Olivia. He worked as an Ironworker for Local 395 and Local 1 for over 30 years. Beloved friend and confidante to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Michael will be laid to rest at a private graveside service on January 21, 2021 at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
