Bernice was born in Mesa, Arizona on September 11, 1941 to James and Rosetta Bobo. Her family later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she was raised. Bernice attended elementary school at Mary McLeod Bethune, and high school at Phoenix Union.
As a young girl Bernice was very active, she regularly attended The Emmanuel Church of God in Christ with her mother, she played the piano, and took tap lessons.
Bernice later met and married Norman Gene Myers, and they were blessed with six beautiful children.
During her career, Bernice worked for Digital Equipment for 25 years. After leaving Digital, she worked 15 years at Medtronic, then retired.
Her favorite hobbies were sewing, crocheting, and experimenting with new recipes; casseroles were her favorite, and she made the best peach cobbler ever. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents James and Rosetta Bobo, stepfather Jim Dixon, two brothers, James and Alfred Bobo, and her youngest son Edmond Duane Myers Sr. She leaves the following family members to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: Two daughters, Beverly McCormick and Janet Myers, Three sons: Norman Myers Jr., Michael Myers, and Timothy Myers Sr., (wife Amy). Bernice’s family tree was blessed with 14 grandchildren, Camille Roberts (husband Terrence), Norman and Jason Harley; Senisa Myers; Cassandra Myers; Brittany, Timothy Jr., Anisa and Malcolm Myers; Jaz’mond Hodges (husband Brian), Dez’mond Elam (husband Terrin), Edmond Jr., Chandler and ILoni Myers. Bernice was also blessed with 16 great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.
