James C. Edwards

James Clark “Jim” Edwards, 82, of Arlington, VA, husband of the late Leota Shelkey Edwards, passed away February 1, 2021 in Alexandria, VA. Mr. Edwards was born in Elbert County, GA, November 2, 1938, to the late Clark Edwards, Jr. and Jewette Webb Edwards. He served honorably in the U.S. Army as a member of the 8th Infantry Division (Airborne) during the Cold War. He began his work career as a staff member for U. S. Congressmen Paul Broun and Robert G. Stevens. Later he joined the Internal Revenue Service and retired as a Senior Agent. He was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Carolyn McMullan of Elberton and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Drennan, Charlotte Cleveland, Jackie Veal Terlaje, and Charles E. Edwards. Mr. Edwards wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes buried next to his beloved wife at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington.
