Obituary of John Guy Fantucchio

John Guy Fantucchio of Arlington, VA, passed away from a stroke on August 4 at age 78. Born in Quincy, MA, to Rose and Guy Fantucchio, he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary, of Arlington; a sister, Marianne Fantucchio of Quincy; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A sister, Joanne Fantucchio, preceded him in death. John worked his way through the Art Institute of Boston and later earned an MFA from Syracuse University. He worked as an artist his entire life – first, 25 years as an illustrator and art director for the Central Intelligence Agency, then founding his own commercial art business, MTTS Studio, in Arlington. He also operated his own art school for 23 years – The Fantucchio School of Art. He has exhibited throughout the country and in England, and has won numerous awards for his artwork. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 6 – 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 5300 N. 10th Street, Arlington. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends in Quincy, MA. at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. The date will be announced in The Quincy Sun.
