Mildred Hallinan
Mildred Hallinan, 99, of Arlington, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on March 3, 2020, in the Avalon Assisted Living Facility.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Hallinan, Sr., whom she married in 1946, in New York. They were happily married for fifty five years, Edward having passed away on January 11, 2001.
Mildred is survived by her four children, daughter, Judy Geddis (Clark), of Aiken, SC; daughter, Pat Dennin (Bart), of Brielle, NJ; Son, Edward M. Hallinan, Jr. (Kristina), of Cypress, TX; and Daniel T. Hallinan (Anne Marie), of Carroll Valley, PA.
Mildred was a woman who knew her own mind. That being said, she was a loving wife and dedicated mother to four children, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was also a woman of faith, having a devotion to Our Lady and St. Anthony of Padua. Her ability to employ thriftiness was a trait she carried throughout her entire life and one she passed on to her children. She was a financial wizard and very caring and generous to others. Her family will honor her memory by continuing her matriarchal role in planning an annual family reunion tradition, of 35 years, at Capon Springs and Farm in West Virginia, family being a priority to her. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light in her darkest moments. She will be greatly missed by all members of her family.
