Mabel Corn Heath

Mabel Corn Heath, 94, formerly of 300 Dyer St, Bassett, VA., died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA. She was born in Patrick County on January 7, 1917 to the late William Henry Corns and Lula Martin Corns. She was retired after more than thirty three years of service with Bassett-Walker as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of the Peters Creek Baptist Church in Lawsonville, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harry Heath, two sons, Tony W. Heath and James S. Heath, two sisters, Myrl Stovall and Madline Hopkins. Survivors are one daughter-in-law, Anita H. Heath of Basye, four sisters, Maude Moore of Lawsonville, NC., Georgia Goard of Stuart, Margaret Newman of Martinsville and Mayfair White, Winter Park, Florida., two step grandchildren, Susan and husband William “Bill” Boyer and William M. Shirley all of Basye, two step great grandchildren, Austin Pacher III and Victoria Pacher. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May, 9, 2011 in the Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home’s Bassett chapel with Reverend Terry Ragsdale officiating. Interment will follow in the Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawsonville, NC.
