Obituary of Ralph Edward Brammer
Ralph Edward Brammer, 86, of Collinsville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born November 28, 1931 in Patrick County, VA. His parents were Nelson Brammer and Hattie Harris Brammer. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy Jamison Brammer, who was the love of his life; brothers, Russell Brammer and Robert Brammer, both of Woolwine; and one nephew, Douglas R. Brammer of Woolwine. Survivors include one sister, Velda Brammer of Woolwine, and brother-in-law, John Jamison of Martinsville, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Ralph served in the Army during the Korean War. His first job was while in high school was for W.G. Atkins in Woolwine. He sold life insurance for a time and ran Russell’s Drive Inn in Bassett. Later he worked for W & B Chevrolet in Bassett for many years. In his retirement he helped start Piedmont Coin Club in Collinsville. He and his wife sold jewelry and other collectibles. They enjoyed planning bus trips for family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with family at the Home Place in Woolwine. A very special thank you to all the care givers that loved and cared for Ralph for the past several years. He loved you like family. Thank you also to Hospice of Sovan, Martinsville. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Collinsville on Sunday, November 4, at 2:00 PM. with Pastor Larry Cheek officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Collinsville. Arrangements are made through Collins, McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett, VA.
